Christmas Message 2014

_NIK4944 (600 x 397)Well here we are again after another fun filled extremely hectic 12 months have passed us by………. Where do the months go?

It is difficult to believe it is a year ago that Adam & Rennae held their fabulous nautical themed housewarming party – to share their new home with family and friends. What a great afternoon with the chef extraordinaire on pizza duty, the pool put to good use and a great time had by all.
Christmas 2013 we were lucky enough to have Sandra (Chris’ sister) in Perth to share the festive season with us – it was a delightful break and we thoroughly enjoyed showing Sandra round all our favourite Perth places and meeting all our friends.

Family_women_cropped - CopyThen in February we traveled to Wiseman’s ferry to help nephew Brett celebrate his 40th birthday – what a fun filled family weekend – amazing place and we are so lucky to have shared the event – the weather was perfect, the venue amazing, spit roast cooked to perfection and a great opportunity to catch up with nieces and nephews and all their family and friends.

IMG_3683Adam and Rennae have been run ragged this 2014 year – since their engagement last Christmas they have spent many flying hours tripping back and forth to Sydney, organising and hosting an engagement party, planning a wedding, keeping up with all their family and friends big events, working full time jobs, running a house and perhaps one of the highlights an amazing trip around Europe. The itinerary Rennae prepared was a work of art and the pictures and feedback from abroad embedded in our memories – yes especially our son at Carcassonne, one of the Tour de France stages – ably representing Australia in a pink spotted dress!!!

Chris is still enjoying retirement and manages to find time to look after me; it is delightful to come home to a cooked meal and be waited on hand and foot. Of course I have to compete with golf, the gym, photography club and don’t forget his morning coffee and muesli slice at Coffee Club in Whitfords!! He is currently enjoying a Bali sojourn with his good mate Graeme, so I’m sure there will be some stories to tell!!

IMG_3160 - CopyDanika is working hard in Sydney and enjoying her new home and housemates. We have been very lucky to have her in Perth several times this year, probably more than she would have liked but we’re still smiling. She traveled across for the housewarming party in December, then one of IMG_3495best friend’s engagement parties in March (she is one of the bridesmaids) and finally her brother’s engagement party in May. She still works hard, exercises often and eats a healthy vegan diet…… so all in all Sydney town suits her lifestyle.
Of course she is delighted this wedding will be held in Sydney so she gets to stay at home for a change !!

Both kids work hard and we are enormously proud of their achievements – Adam was invited to sit on a panel at the HxGN Conference in Las Vegas in May, a task he performed ably – it was quite exciting sitting up in bed in the middle of the Perth night to watch the live telecast of his panel event. In addition to all the other stresses and strains he spent a mammoth amount of time training and preparing for the Busselton Half Marathon also in May – what an amazing event to watch and of course he performed an extremely credible time.IMG_3499

IMG_4175My life at Wesbeam continues with all the stresses and strains that come with the position – but I’d be lying if I didn’t say I enjoyed the challenge – the team we have are amazing and they keep me going to work every day and make the work day fun. Through Step into Life I keep fit with my early morning exercises in the park and also managed to enter Relay for Life again this year knocking up a 110 laps (44kms) in the 24 hours – and yes it poured again!!!

Rennae is as delightful as ever and is really enjoying her new job. She keeps busy playing hockey in the winter and with planning their Europe trip, engagement party and wedding there isn’t much free time.

We have another hectic year coming up but are really excited about spending Christmas in NZ this year – it’s been over 20 years since we actually_NIK7119 - Copy spent Christmas at home!!

Love Trish, Chris, Adam & Rennae and Danika.

    Hi Trish,
I live in Nanaimo B.C. Canada. I think we are second cousins? My grandmother was Dorothy Turner from Wormleighton Warwickshire.
Her only Sibling was Maurice Turner, who immigrated to New Zealand after WW1. One of my hobbies is genealogy. I have a fair amount of information on our shared Turner history. Please contact me via email, if you are interested in sharing information on the New Zealand Turners. If I am not correct, and we are not related, let me know as well.
    Thanks
    Glen

    • Hi Glen

I am Trisha’s husband and you have the right Turners as Maurice was her grandfather. I have passed on your inquiry to Trisha’s mum Melda who was married to Maurice, Maurice seniors son.
I did reply to your email earlier via my phone but it may not have got through.

      Cheers

      Chris
